Backbone request to server?

Good day to all. There is a form. telephone number. I track the change through the change input.
Now we need to send the data to the server. I am confused to send via Save() . everything is ok the request flies. I think the answer can also be received through the jqXHR object.
The question is, am I doing it right?

It is not worth taking through special objects. Backbone does everything itself.
An important point, is saving a new entity to the server ( POST )
or changing an existing ( PUT ) request?
Backbone expects this by default.
