Auto_increment jump in MySQL

I looked through the tables in the database, and saw that auto_increment for one of the tables jumped a lot of values. MySQL version 5.0.45. I can not find an explanation for such a miracle.

1013
1014
3310001
3310002
Has anyone come across such miracles?

Someone once manually created a record with userId 33310001 and went on from that number.
