Authorization of applications in a microsoft account

Good evening.

Let's say I download some windows phone app that wants to sync with my outlook calendar, for example. Naturally, for this it sends me to the login page in the microsoft account. Do I understand correctly that after I log in, the application will have full access to my account, or is there some kind of tricky access control?

It's just that if you take, for example, a Google account, then you can generate special passwords for applications there. If for some reason you didn’t like the application, you can simply disable the password generated for it and be sure that it’s impossible to log into your account using this password anymore. What about with a microsoft account? Is it hard to change your password?
