At 34, retrain as a front-end developer?
Greetings. The question is next. I am 34 years old, I have a desire to retrain as a front-end developer or UX / UI designer, do you think it is possible to completely change your specialization at this age? About me: I have been working in the printing industry for 14 years. But since I was tired of all this, there was a desire to change the field of activity. Maybe someone has a similar experience?

My friend is just learning the web, and I'm helping him. He is 32.
Here is my answer to a similar question. It was a long time ago, but the relevance remains.
Where to find remote work in 40+ years?
Sure, not a problem. It would be time to study. This is not an area where you can study once and that's it. There's a bunch of new stuff here every couple of years. Well, there is competition with young talents. Therefore, you need to try very hard to be relevant.
You can retrain, within two years you can easily learn both front and back at a tolerable level, or one thing at a good level.
But there are disadvantages:
- you will not have real experience in development and you will be offered a low salary, I advise you to check the salary of a junior for hh, are you ready to spend this money? Losing 10 or 20 thousand a month is a serious step, because in a year it will amount to 120 or 240 thousand rubles - the price of a family holiday abroad.
- Estimate the salary of a middle in your region. take not the maximum fork, but below the average. Do you want to receive this amount after a year or two of training and a year or two of work as a junior? Or is it not worth it? Indeed, at the new place of work there will be difficult tasks, stress, and not a run-in daily routine like at the previous place of work.
In short, I strongly advise you to monitor the hh of your city, so as not to be disappointed later.
I also advise you not to be fooled by stories about fabulous salaries from companies offering training courses, all this is a lie, and with knowledge of html and css you will not be hired for a salary of even 30 thousand rubles.
