If, after resetting the BIOS, it sees all the memory, then it may be worth updating the BIOS.

ASUS is a wonderful brand. Sometimes it makes sense to roll back the BIOS version (just a couple of days ago I solved the problem with ASUS VX6). Just be careful - BIOS rollback can lead to a black screen and the need to open the box and remove the battery\clear CMOS. The other day I lost my warranty due to a rollback (the problem was solved, but the warranty was gone :) )

If other settings go astray too, then it makes sense to look and replace the CMOS battery.
