Assign symbols to Midi keyboard keys?

I had a stupid idea, but I want to try.
There is a midi-keyboard Axelvox key49j, I want a program that prints characters when you press the keys.
Tell me if there is something similar or what are the ways to solve the problem without flashing the keyboard itself?
Does anyone want to write such a program?

I take it you need something like www.keyboardmaniac.com? Unfortunately, I don't know of a free alternative.

The easiest option is to run some rosegarden and write midi from the keyboard. Then, with some simple analyzer, convert the midi to text.
You can also make a program yourself: it will be quite simple (because you only need to register new keystroke events, you do not need to fix the duration of pressing).
In general, if it’s not a secret, would you share: why did you need such a miracle?

I'm just getting into learning non-standard input methods now, I saw this discussion on stackoverflow:

There is nothing stupid about the idea of "trying". If you don't like it, move on.

habrahabr.ru/users/CSharpRU/ wrote this. Ask him for the source if you want. We played osu! with him in 4 hands, it was fun.
