Learning Assembler is very useful in order to understand what turns into and how the code that you write in high-level languages ​​actually works. At the same time, its practical application is quite narrow, but it exists and does not disappear anywhere. It's the same way doctors and biologists study cell biology, even though only a couple percent of them will interact directly with cells at best. Or how modern CNC machine operators learn metalworking on manual machines. All this gives an understanding of the internal mechanisms and makes them better specialists than those who study (and even worse, memorize) only applied methods.
