Are you familiar with the textbook on higher mathematics for an engineer?

Are you familiar with the textbook on higher mathematics for an engineer, in which, in addition to all the formulas, rules, etc. etc. written practical application? For example, I read the chapter about matrices, and right there in the chapter you are told where and how they are used.

The combination of "textbook" and "for engineer" cuts the ear. If you are already an engineer, then you have already unlearned, why then a textbook? Handbook - yes, but not a textbook. A textbook for studying some basic subjects, principles, etc.
If a textbook is for a student, then in some there are mentions of where something is used, somewhere there is nothing. But it won't do anything in practical terms. Only when, while studying physics (for example), you come across some things that are calculated only, say, by a triple integral, then it becomes clear why this was studied in mathematics. Or, people often ask about complex numbers - what are they for? In textbooks, they try in different ways to convey different interpretations and the physical meaning of these concepts, but, as a rule, they are so vague that few people understand. But it’s worth doing on the theoretical foundations of electrical engineering (TOE, somewhere else they call it, but it doesn’t matter) the calculation of alternating current circuits, with inductances and capacitors - here ways are shown how to calculate it, namely the translation of frequencies, phases, and amplitudes into the plane of complex numbers gives the best result - quickly, quite simply, and quite understandably. After solving a sufficiently large number of applied problems, an understanding is calmly and clearly built in the head of what kind of complex numbers are, and where and how you can use it.
And in other sciences, it also happens that it is difficult to do without some knowledge of higher mathematics, and you have to delve into it. Everything is connected.
