Are there video recorders with software control?

Tell me, are there commercial home-level DVRs in nature with the ability to control through an open API? We need simple operations such as enable / disable registration (or a specific camera), get a list of recent events, get a photo / video by event, initiate saving a photo / video at an arbitrary point in time.

Directly so that commercial, household and so that the API is in the public domain, I can only recommend paying attention to the registrars from Devline (Line). They have an API specification on their website, the beauty of their solution is that the registrars have the functionality of their program (server part) as for a PC, i.e. what PC + Line can do, so can their recorders. Google see description. Their model range of regs is not large, but universal (there is both IP and analogue), I personally use XVR8 for small objects, although the API did not have to be used.
In any case, you need to look at major manufacturers of software video systems, since those who produce recorders usually sharpen them for their cameras and offer us to use ready-made utilities for administration and monitoring. For example, I have not met a single Chinese reg with an open description of the API, of course they can give information on request, but communication with the Chinese is still a quest :))

Even the simplest Chinese will cope with this task, even with gray airi. the question is what cameras and so on.
