Layouts and prototypes
Utter_step, 2013-04-06 00:02:45

Are there tools for rapid GUI prototyping under Windows?

Actually, the whole question is in the title.

I am mainly interested in the presence of standard controls (drop-down lists, buttons, sliders) and grid layout.

Maybe this is a perversion, but if you have Delphi or Visual BASIC, you can use them.

wxWidgets + Code::Blocks . Advantages: speed, low resource requirements, free, cross-platform (Windows/Linux/FreeBSD/MacOS), easy integration with programming languages other than C++ (Perl, Python, Erlang and many others).

Axure is almost standard. There is a grid, you just need to find the appropriate widget libraries and go into battle.
Previously, Justinmind was recommended to me here. It costs money, but there are many possibilities. See desktop examples: www.justinmind.com/prototyper/widgets-desktop
