Are there resources for developing Java EE applications in NetBeans + GlassFish and Intellij Idea + GlassFish?

Good day.

There is a desire to independently learn how to develop JEE applications.
As an application server, I decided to study GlassFish, but I haven’t decided on an IDE yet.
NetBeans is geared towards GlassFish, but IDEA is pretty damn good. From here I have two questions:

1) What IDE is better to develop under GlassFish?

2) Please tell me good video courses, blogs and sites on my topic.

Many thanks in advance to all!

actually it's not all that important. Any server connects to any ide in a minute or two, then there will be no difference in the first stages.
As an option, I would advise you to start with Tomcat.

Yes, I would take a tomcat. Also would not look towards heavy application servers. This is a nightmare for developers, everyone scolds them and tries to migrate to other web application servers. A lot of hemorrhoids, about the proc - it is very doubtful

I can recommend a good book by David Heffelfinger "Java EE 6 and the GlassFish 6 Application Server". It is not tied to a specific IDE, but in my opinion this is even a plus.
book on amazon
There is also a Russian version of the book.

I can advise you to experiment with JBoss AS 7, it works very fast. Compared to glassfish.

For Java Idea, netbeans is an order of magnitude better for professional development.
Especially in j2ee!
