Are there any prospects in the IT field for beginners?

Hello. I was crazy about the level of competition and the situation on the market as a whole in the field of IT. There are a lot of responses to every job posting. Numbered in tens and hundreds. And the demands are huge.

I am looking for jobs like "assistant system administrator" or "assistant programmer", in general, some low positions from which one could start working in this area. But there are very few of them. It seems that the vacancy can also be called - "assistant system administrator", and the requirements (in terms of knowledge and experience) as a highly qualified specialist with 5 years of experience. If a person responds to such a vacancy, then how can he even have experience, especially if he graduated from a university? There must be some knowledge and skills, but give everyone experience ...

From everything, I got the impression thatWell, how to get started if they don’t even take on lower positions in the “assistant of something” type anywhere?

PS if I violated the rules of this resource with this question, then I apologize and ask you not to delete it. I just want to chat with people who are "in the know")

It's a difficult question. At first glance, grassroots positions in IT are wildly competitive. On the other hand, she is wild but completely toothless, since the level of candidates corresponds to the janitor.
A month ago I was looking for an assistant assistant, there are a lot of candidates, the level is below the plinth, they don’t know anything at all, they learned two buttons and now an IT specialist.
Work, after all, is not a school or an institute, here you also have to give something in return, i.e. must do some work completely independently and with due quality. If you know how to do something on your own and fully understand the process, then look for such a job. The fact that someone can next, next, finish, install windows does not make this person an IT specialist.
So it turns out, the competition is wild, but there is practically none among the promising ones.
And the promising ones are those who understand that in order to get it, you must first invest, and a lot, and regularly invest in yourself.

Well, they still heard that in IT they pay bucks, that they sat in IT for 2-3 years and you can live on the islands, drinking sambuca, lazily poking buttons on a laptop.
Here in IT people also rushed.
No matter how hard the field is to study, if millions go there, then it is clear that the competition will be crazy, especially at the beginner level.
Here at the mid level it is already clear that it turns out that you need to study SO much that some IN PRINCIPLE are not ready to spend so much effort on it. Many burn out after six months or a year of just training, and are looking for related jobs.
In some professions, you can become a senior specialist simply by serving 5-10 years, but in IT this is a rarity.
There is a lot to learn in IT. Learning out of the box. Seek and motivate yourself to develop yourself.
Therefore, only a few grow to the level of senior and architect - the vast majority remain at the level of mid-level even after 10-20 years of work. Or they are generally disappointed, lag behind the trend and jump off to the side.

...and the requirements (in terms of knowledge and experience) as a highly qualified specialist

everything is correct. assistant to help the programmer do what he does and use the technologies that he uses.
I also have a friend who constantly asks me to be an "assistant" for a penny, but what for I need him if he is in programming 0. in what way can he help me? Divert?
Well, how to get started if they don’t take anywhere

you need to know at least one thing to get started.

"Assistant programmer" did not hear about this - it is not clear how a programmer can be helped.
But "assistant system administrator" is a completely understandable position, only it is called differently - a technical support specialist.
In tech support, they take almost everyone who knows how to turn on a computer. Then it will depend only on you - you can grow into an analyst, a system administrator, a tester. Some even become programmers (like me, for example).
Another way is through testing. The technical requirements for testers are much less. You can delve into the product, become familiar with the company, and then, with the knowledge of the business process, move on to juniors.

It was necessary to look for a job with minimal requirements even before graduation (internship, practice), after the university you need to make more efforts and have specific skills. You need to take a slice of 20 vacancies, highlight the general and study it, a resume without a list of specific skills is not interesting for employers

There are no vacancies "assistant programmer". It was in the USSR that there were software engineers with classes - but there were no classes - these were the type of assistants.
But the admin assistant is a completely understandable function. If there are at least three people in the IT department, they usually already take this one. The requirements are usually near-zero, it’s people for work like “go to the server room, take a dead oops there, bring it here” or “take a bundle of wire and take it to the server room”, that is, such a give-bring-leave-do not interfere, only in IT -department. He usually knows how to crimp cords - they will teach you this, pulling wires, changing mice and, in general, an "IT laborer". Whether a specialist will grow out of him depends on the person himself, the salary is usually low, but some are satisfied with it (spoiler: the picture is copied from nature - we have one)
I have no idea where you were looking for an assistant admin job that you didn't find and I have no idea what you even know how to do.
For those who want to work, the prospect is everywhere.
For whiners who are waiting for the fact that in the real adult world there is a collective mother who will come and take care - bummer, sir, she is not there (sometimes not physically at all, like me for example)

personally, I started my career path in it from the first line of those. support (within the company), but that was 8 years ago, try to be like interviews for such positions,
I wouldn’t take a zero specialist even for an assistant to the system administrator, because the hell knows what he will administer there, and then rake it up

There is one category of places where they take almost anyone "in IT" and often without any special knowledge at all. These are government organizations. All sorts of schools, institutes, hospitals. There they can hire a laboratory assistant and a low salary even without a higher education right after school. It will be necessary to rearrange Windows, find shortcuts moved from the desktop to documents, poke wires from printers and other not very rewarding activities. If it goes well and you learn how to optimize your activities, then you will need to rearrange Windows less often, the wire to the printer will not cling to the arm of the chair, that very free time for self-education will appear, both useful for current work and for further development. And then you can go to more interesting places. True, people who start on this path most often at the first step and hang. But still, for those who are not even taken to juniors, there is such an option.

It was possible to come with the words “I don’t know anything, teach me” 7 years ago, but now there are really a lot of beginners who have invested a lot of time and money in their education. There are a lot of courses, paid and free. When a person who does not know anything at all and a person who knows the basics of the theory comes to an interview, it is clear who the employer will prefer.
But if you are constantly learning, then finding your first job will not be very difficult. Moreover, after 2-3 years of hard work (and constant self-development), the job will look for you by itself - there are still not enough experienced specialists on the market.

From everything, I got the impression that there are no prospects for newcomers to IT at all.
Not true. They take it and how. Those who know, who are learning. Your university has nothing to do with it. If you want to be hired, it is enough to study the field, burn with it, so that the employer understands that you have knowledge. Well, practice on your projects. You do not have all this, he wrote:
I myself don’t like to sit at the computer for such a long time, and the circumstances do not allow it. I saw IT not as the meaning of life, but as a job that would feed me. But I'm beginning to understand that the IT industry is a specific activity. There is really nothing to do without interest.
- here you are right.
But I will add. Most likely, you have nothing to do for a PC at all, you don’t need to try all that nonsense that you listed there - modeling, design .. Just trust me. Take a look around, people work not only at the PC, you should not consider office-sedentary work as something exclusive and a hell of a lot of money.

Who seeks - he will find. If you don't find a job by sending your resume to 100 companies, send me proofs with screenshots, and I'll take you.
Of the hundreds of responses, suitable resumes - a couple of pieces. From a kilometer list of technologies - the client needs 1-2. This is done to expand the search for potential candidates, but works in the opposite direction.
PS The author of the question is clearly inadequate, I do not advise you to deal with him.

You decide for yourself - what would you like, what would you like to do, what is interesting for you?
As for "nagging" - everyone who answered is right - you either take it and do it, or you just don't need it.
As for competition, yes it is. BUT! When faced with a real task, finding a specialist is not so easy. It's full of all sorts of information gypsies, rogues and just crooked hands - this is full of goodness. And there are very few specialists - since all specialists have more work than they can handle and not burn out ahead of time. And so it was 10 years ago and now.
I'm not ready to advise you to go to technical support, in my opinion - this is the path to stupefaction and degradation. So just - go in, look around, but do not get into all this with your ears.
I can tell from my own experience, which is completely unoriginal:
1) I went to courses on 1C-ke.
2) Immediately after graduation, I found a franchise, and they always look for and recruit
3) Passed an interview, got into the team
4) I began to study further, train and immerse myself in the process - I began to go to clients, solving small problems first, then more seriously. Did some work in the office. He delved into the needs of the business, a lot of communication. And here there is scope in the specifics - from cafes, car services, pharmacies, retail, wholesale companies, industries and to real large enterprises.
And then, you will begin to understand for yourself - what is yours: Work according to the TOR in the deadline mode. Work to support the project or at the opening itself. Do you need a lot of communication or not.
And then any programmer in the franchise sooner or later has a choice to stay or leave. Because over time, in addition to everything, you form CONNECTIONS in business and they will definitely try to lure you away. This is normal practice.
What I described is one of the options. Not a quick way by itself, but in my opinion it gives invaluable experience that you will never get on any courses.

I didn't see anyone need help. Everyone with a great background and projects needs specialists. Now the supply market is very overheated, middles are not needed for everyone, and juniors are simply skipped. For reference: I asked in two different companies how many applicants for a vacancy. One company wrote 70, another 200. Only 10-20% of interviews were assigned, 1-3 people were able to explain OOP in js.
If you came to IT for money, immediately turn around and leave or go freelancing. But do not expect growth, you will receive the same 30-50k in 5 years.
In your question

Well, how to start work if they don’t take anywhere?
hiding the answer - get started! (but not in IT)

It's strange to ask such questions and complain when the courses are just in bulk on any technology. You can study all web development stupidly on YouTube, make a couple of your projects and voila - you are a middle with experience, you go and ask for 100k

G
grabbee, 2020-09-25

Lots of letters. Do not read. At some time, VUE appeared - and if you started to study it and write on it, then you immediately already have a competitor to all JS and REACT specialists - like this, at the start. Not now, but then, yes. Therefore, IMHO depending on how you look. You may not know the native language, but as you study the PV, you will still begin to "know" it. And when working with PV, knowledge of PV comes first. All JS specialists who do not know VUE go through the woods, regardless of their experience of knowledge of JS in a vacancy on VUE - although this is the same JS.

Are there any prospects in the IT field for beginners?

If these beginners expect that after half a year of courses they will begin to receive hundreds of thousands, then yes, there are no prospects, only disappointments.
If for a person programming is a hobby, he has been doing his home projects for years, then it will not be difficult to pull up the knowledge that will be required for office development.
Well, how to get started if they don’t take anywhere

Nobody is stopping you right now, at home, from starting to develop your own analogue (conditionally) of Facebook. And immediately there will be experience, and what to show in the resume.
In general, programming is one of the few specialties in which 90% of the experience and knowledge can be obtained sitting at home. Yes, it will be longer than in the working team, but it is possible.
