Are there advantages to the MacBook layout?
1. I have been using Linux for a long time
2. The main development environment is Sublime / Vim
3. I am looking for a lightweight laptop / ultrabook for work, up to 15 inches, with an aluminum case or
so ctrl right) to the macbook layout (fn instead of the usual ctrl, there is no right ctrl, a lot of keyboard shortcuts through the apple button)
and what can you say in favor of the effectiveness of such a layout. (abbreviations for auto-commenting lines ctrl+/, tabulating blocks of text ctrl+[ or ctrl+] in sublime on a classic keyboard, etc.)
All attempts to use new combinations seem to me a very big perversion, combinations are not pressed with one hand, you need to stretch far and sometimes you need to squeeze with both hands. A matter of habit, of course, but is it worth it?
I develop exclusively server software, so I don’t offer ide, most of the time is spent in console or near-console applications.
P / s are there any sane analogues of a macbook with a classic layout? In mind dell xps 13 developer edition which you will not find in the afternoon with fire.
