Are there adequate books or articles in nature on possible ways to communicate with extraterrestrial civilizations?

Good day.
I recently watched the wonderful film "Contact", and was surprised that the scriptwriters worked on the technical part of the film. I saw such thinking through many little things only in Interstellar. In "Contact" the aliens transmitted a signal to the Earth, very correctly modulated, I will not disclose the details, because there will be a spoiler.
A couple of months ago I watched Feynman's lectures, and there he also touched on the topic of a possible approach to communicating with extraterrestrial civilizations.
It would be very interesting to read intelligible books or articles on this topic: about how you can start communicating with someone who does not understand you at all, in particular, how you could start communicating with aliens.
Thanks in advance to all who respond.

Everything that was previously written on the topic of communication with extraterrestrial civilizations will seem the same after the trilogy "The Three-Body Challenge", "The Dark Forest", "The Eternal Life of Death" (by Liu Cixin).
Perhaps some details have not been worked out, but on the whole the work is monumental.

1. Visually: drawings, gestures and evaluation of reactions to various influences (parenting and animal training)
2. With the help of messages: we communicate through serifs in time intervals: graphically - these are gaps / lines; logically, these are distances / pauses (analog - Morse code) and their corresponding visual images (letters, numbers, images).
The protocol for the initial exchange of information is quite simple:
1. Establishing a connection (PING / PONG): response with the same packet (received data):
Received: [packet]
Sent: [packet]
2. Learning the language :
sending: [X][packet][ Y] (X is Y)
answer: [X][packet][Y]
3. Check result :
question (?): [X][package][Y]
response "YES": [X][package][Y]
response "NO": [package]
