Are sourcemaps loaded with the site?

How are code maps loaded?
along with the site? but then
I don’t see the point in minification in the network, but they somehow got into devtools
at what point they are pumped up or how does this technology work in general?

sourcemap is loaded at the moment of opening devtools (therefore it is better to form them into a separate file)

Sourcemaps are loaded with the site during development
. They are also more about building a project from a bunch of files than solving problems with minification.
