Are pixel art in demand?

I remember many years ago it gave me pleasure to draw pixel sprites and their movement, given the restrictions on the volume and size of images.
Is it needed somewhere else? I vaguely suspect about games for mobile phones and icons. Do you need monochrome graphics?

I've always admired people who draw like this:

I'm in demand;) I would love to play something like this in the browser toy. Yes, and the original design of the site can be invented.

Yes.
By the way, for the last 2.5 hours I have been drawing a clock 30 by 30 pixels in GIF. 50 frames. Turned out nice on the second try :)
