Are microsoft servers running on linux?

In general, I saw for a long time, like on Habré, that they broke some page at Microsoft, where a web server error occurred and it was clear that their site was hosted on Linux. Now I can’t find it, but I have a serious holivar, in general, we need proofs, would you mind throwing it in?

About 4 years ago nmap-zero microsoft.com and FreeBSD showed me, I don't remember the version. I was so surprised that I even took a screenshot, but it got lost =(

Some may work. But the vast majority - IIS + Windows + .NET
Maybe you are talking about some services on Azure? There you can raise servers on linux, but they are essentially launched from under the virtual machine.

On the lore they wrote that Skype is working. True or not - I don’t know, I’m too lazy to look for proof.

Every application has its own implementation. Surely, the good old apache + nginx bundle in some situations work better than IIS, just like vice versa.

Somehow, when trying to download either a new .net or something similar from the official website of Microsoft, I received a standard 404 from Apache xD
Three years ago it was.
