Fight against spam

Are mailing services "sellers of email databases"?

In the email debate on the mailing list from the boss, the following question arose:

Do I really propose to give our client base to spammers? If so, a cursory googling yielded no evidence. If not, how can you justify it?

Choose a platform with a good reputation.
That is, one that, when draining contacts, will lose more than it will gain by selling them.
Theoretically, you can get confused and create your own addresses - traps. Register "clean" addresses, do not use them in any way and add them to your own database. If the base is stolen, other people's mailing lists will fall to these addresses. Unfortunately, this way it will not be possible to track who exactly stole the base.

Well, any leak of customer information to an outside service is a potential spam threat to customers. Implement mailing via msmtp from a server, if possible. Setting it up is not usually difficult. A small script is added to the settings to select addresses from the table, generate a letter and send it, and that's it. You will only need a working address from which you will conduct this mailing. If you need to write a script and / or configure a server / work machine for msmtp, then my email address is in the profile.

show the price tag, how much it will cost to create your mailing service (or the time of creation) and compare it with the finished
