Application architecture design tools?

Situation: I recently decided to make my own mega-cool full-fledged program in Python & C ++. Before that, he was only involved in solving problems on Codewars and a little script writing. Thinking about it, I realized that the application is not as simple as it seemed at first glance and the functionality needs to be worked out, to put it mildly, dofiga (on the second day I got confused), and you can’t do without a full-fledged “project drawing”.

Hence the question : what tools do full-fledged developers use to visualize the architecture of a future application?

I tried simple mindmap(coggle) - but somehow it didn't work. You can, of course, manually sketch on whatman paper, but you want something more dynamic, and so that you can later add it to your portfolio if it comes out good.

I would start with a piece of paper, pencil and laundry. Well, the basics, at least uml and what is architecture.
