Any recommendations for sass bootstrap 4?

We use both technologies, but somehow separately - first we connect all / most of b4, and then we start to reassign all styles in an old-fashioned way. I started working on the docks and the ./bootstrap/scss/_variables.scss file, slowly began to build b4 immediately with the necessary styles. Maybe something wrong and not worth doing? Let's say there are problems right away if I want to specify the font-size in pixels, it swears that rem is needed. If there are any articles, what experience, then I will be glad to read
