Android sqllite database backup, automatic from api level 23?

As I understand it, judging by the documentation https://developer.android.com/guide/topics/data/au... now, when switching to a new device, the database should be updated in my application from the old one? Is there a way to check this somehow? Do I need an Android 6 device to check? If I now buy a new device with Android 6, my data from the application on the current Android 5 device will not automatically be transferred to the new one?
