An eye-friendly and eye-safe code highlighting theme?

Hello. I read somewhere that the font safe for sight is Verdana. Is there or what do you think is a convenient and eye-safe code highlighting theme? Interested for Python.

It seems to me that it is not so much the topic that is fundamentally important here, but the mode of operation of the monitor. The thing is, they are often overexposed. Ideally, the white should look exactly like a white sheet of paper in the same light. It's not so much about color correction as brightness. If the screen looks brighter when comparing a white sheet in good lighting at the workplace, it means that it works too brightly.
Also, do not work in the dark. As soon as it starts to get dark, you need to turn on the lighting (at least a table lamp. It’s
just that marketing is now imposing bright screens, behind which it might be nice to play or watch movies, but working with such brightness is clearly contraindicated. By the way, monitors have several operating modes between which you can easily switch.

Verdana for the code is tough, DejaVu Sans Mono is great, the eyes do not hurt.
I have my own topic, it does not cover Python, only HTML/CSS/JS/LESS/SASS/CoffeeSript/PHP/YAML/JSON, if anything - https://github.com/nazar-pc/CleverStyle-PhpStorm-t ...
Add Python support - send a pull request)

For the eyes, the mode of work and training matters, everything else can only "prolong the service life".

When working in AutoCAD, I noticed that the design style with a black screen and light lines was less tiring for the eyes than a white screen and dark lines. Perhaps when programming, too, a dark screen will be better for the eyes.
