[Amazon Glacier] Why didn't they withdraw $72, as we calculated everything here? How much does it cost?

Let me remind you the topic: habrahabr.ru/qa/32419/

In short: I uploaded 10 GB. in Amazon Glacier and immediately requested them (all 10 GB became available for download in 3-4 hours). Only later I read about the tricky payment system and realized that I would have to pay from $18 to $215 (it's hard to say how much).

As a result, at the end of the month:

$0.010 per GB / month - Storage 6.032 GB-Mo 0.06
$0.050 per 1,000 Requests 1,486 Requests 0.07

Why 6 GB - I don’t know, apparently they consider it in the archive.

It turns out we all misunderstood how much it costs? Or will they be billed this month?

2. Clicked the "Get Inverntory" button on the package in CloudBerry Explorer.

didn't use CloudBerry Explorer, but in Amazon terms, "Get Inventory" doesn't mean to request that all files be downloaded. Only inventory (list of all files). I think it costs almost nothing.
A few hours later, all files (all 10 GB) became available for download.
3. Downloaded the file 1 Mb.

But this is strange. When you downloaded a 1 MB file, did it become instantly available? Is CloudBerry Explorer a desktop client or a web client? Could this file be downloaded from somewhere else? Has the content been checked?

Why 6 GB - I don't know, apparently they count in the archive.

Because it's not 6 gigabytes, but 6 gigabytes * months. Just 10 gigs in ~ 15 days.

How I ended up paying $150 for a single 60GB download from Amazon Glacier

Update: Amazon changed Glacier pricing on 21 December 2016, about 11 months after this was originally posted. The “gotcha” pricing described herein is no longer in effect, replaced by simple per-GB retrieval fees.
