Am I installing Laravel Elixir correctly?
Good afternoon.
It seems that I am installing correctly laravel.com/docs/5.1/elixir and I seem to have read about Elixir that it is installed quickly. But I have this case is happening hours two! "find . | wc -l" shows 17,992 files in the "node_modules" folder.
Wanted to ask you the same? Also, it took so long to install and also almost 18 thousand files in the folder? Or am I doing something wrong? Should I install as root or as user? Do you need to put all this on production too? And it turns out that all the developers that participate in the development need to kill 2 hours to install Elixir?
Thank you

I have 24196 files in a not very big project. But two hours is something very, very wrong. 10 minutes at most on a slow connection (we don’t take exotic things like Vietnam-Thailand-hotels in Vyshny Volochek) for downloading.
Install under user.
Whether to put it on sale depends on how you decide. You can commit the collected files to git, then you don’t need to. Or not to commit, then it is necessary. The third option is to build in a separate folder, which is then deployed for production.
All of the above applies to pure NPM. What is Laravel Elixir and what does it do, I don't know.
