Alternative to global variables in project?

Tell me, I'm still new to web development. There is a project based on BEM, which is assembled from components. Each component is independent. The project has a ready-made set of colors (there are 8 of them) and fonts (there are 2 of them). Whether to register them as variables, for example, in the variables.scss file, but then the components that use these variables will become dependent on this file. And if you pull the component into another project, you will have to drag variables.scss as well, as I understand it?
Are there any ideas to do without "global" variables?
