What algorithm? At least for the first 5 popular social networks and sites.

It turns out this is when you, for example, poke on a link, and if you clicked it from your phone, it redirects you either to the application, for example, redirects to Instagram, to a specific post, opening exactly the section in the application that the link creator wanted) or throws you to download it Appendix.
In general, the topic is muddy, there is little information, Google leads only to paid services.

and, apparently, such services as branch.io are deep linking service providers.
They register their https domain with a certificate - in some kind of apple database, their domain is added by the application owners themselves to the application logic, and only then the magic begins. That is, the maximum that can be done without having billions in your pocket:
1) write a deep link service for your personal application
2) write not a deep link service, but a regular url shortener that stupidly sends the user to the mobile version of the application, and then - fuck.
3) on your knees to ask the major social networks to take pity on you and add your deep link engine to the logic of their applications.
