Access to home media (videos, music, documents) via the Web

Good afternoon!

There is a home Debian server available from the Internet.
The server has a collection of music, videos and a set of documents.

There was a need to use them in other places connected to the Internet and without installing additional programs.
Connection speeds allow streaming audio and video.
I want to be like on Yandex.Music - you open a Web page and listen to the desired track right in the browser.

So far, only owncloud falls under the description.

Please share your real experience in solving similar problems.

Try ampache . In addition to the web interface, there is an API with which a number of players can work .
upd. Oh, there is also a video with documents. I'm not sure about this anymore (:

Here is a fairly simple method of organizing access to files and watching videos via the WEB:
1. Download HFS (600kb)
2. Download the template (you can edit it as you like: JS + HTML, etc.)

We get this view in the browser

There is a file search, access control (users / passwords / streams / speeds), video viewing, music playback and much more ...

Not exactly what you need, but it might be interesting. There is this thing: www.amazon.com/New-Media-sharing-device-black-POGOP21/dp/B005FNDJHS/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1359118685&sr=8-2&keywords=pogoplug and pogoplug offers cloud backups for it unlimited. In general, a very interesting device.

I would recommend looking into eyeOS . You can raise it on your server and get a full-fledged desktop in any client browser with multi-user support and the ability to read and save files on the server. True, in its finished form it is not sharpened for mobile devices, but if you process it with a file, you can do what you need. Perhaps there are already assemblies of this kind based on it.
