Ability to play PS3 vs PC?

I've been playing games bought through Steam for a couple of years now. A friend plays on PS3.
Task: Fight each other in Battlefield: Bad Company 2.
Is it possible to play on the same server from different platforms?

As far as I understood by googling, it is unrealistic until this game is bought in Stream with PS3.
The next cross-protoform game that is being written about is Portal 2, which is scheduled for release on April 21st.

If my memory serves me right, even at the time of the release of UT3, this idea was completely abandoned, realizing all the inexpediency. In this regard, consoles somehow lose to PCs, even with terminals connected (both for ps3 and for the box it is possible to connect a mouse, but it still works through the emulator)
