We are talking about a trading platform (or an online store). By more general information, I mean some generally accepted rules for such sites. I've searched the internet, but haven't come up with anything definitive yet. I understand that since the site will be related to foreign exchange transactions, it will be necessary to provide guarantees to users (buyers and sellers). Another person is responsible for the design of the site and advertising. I would like to ask how many civilians will be needed for the first time, and whether a powerful server is needed for such a site (I repeat from the title). Maybe some special certificates? ..

It all depends on the load, if the attendance per day is not large, then it is not needed, if it is large, then it is needed.

How many hits do you predict?
As I understand it, the site will be new and it is unlikely that there will immediately be a powerful flow of visitors.
Take for a while (1-2 months) an ordinary shared and a normal hoster.
If the flow is immediately large, then take a VPS. Set up caching.
A lot depends on the CMS you will be using.

Look in the direction of the VPS, definitely. And how many resources will be required - you need to look at the visits. Start with 1-2 RAM, and then scale up if necessary.
