A system for detecting an object in a photo?

Hello. It became a little interesting to solve one problem. For example, a user takes a photo of a flower or a tree on a phone, and the system determines which flower/tree it is.
As I understand it, machine vision is needed here along with a neural network. As well as access to a certain database of flowers / trees, which contains any of their signs.
The question is, have there been such projects at all? Where it is possible to esteem more in detail about possible implementation? Well, or you can speculate on this topic, where to dig, etc.

why they stopped it, xs.
Try a regular Google image search, sometimes it gives out good pearls, but only people can use their results, not machine-readable.
