A personal finance program?

I think the situation is known to everyone, when you seem to be working and getting a seemingly good money, but it disappears with some kind of mystical air, and you don’t understand where exactly. In this connection, I want to control, plan and generally somehow organize my financial condition.
I ask you to suggest a program for Windows Seven or FreeBSD to decide what I want. It is not necessary for Linux and Online projects are not interesting either! Greater focus primarily on freeware or open-source programs. The experience of people associated with any particular program is very interesting, and not the result of a search in Google

I was in excel.
You collect checks for the day, enter them in the evening, according to the columns - food, clothing, travel, etc.
Rows are the day of the month, columns are expenditure items.
I don't think a special program is needed for this task.
I found that most of all goes to food, well, that's it. F)

EvilsInterrupt, a familiar problem :)
at first I used dervish.ru - I didn’t master it (it was a long time ago) now it is called AbilityCash.
Samuel Finances is a great ideology, but for some reason the interface did not take root
GnuCash, unfortunately, did not go at all.
then there was PersonalFinances, left because of the disgusting implementation of the debt book.
in the end, I stopped 1C-Money, this is the best that can be found now.
now see dervish/abilitycash, samuel finances, 1c-money.

You can try CashFly . I have been using it for a long time, in general I am satisfied (although it is a pity that the development has stopped, some additional buns would obviously not hurt).

Try to get married. A warm lamp wife will cope with this task much better than crafts for mobile phones.

1C Money. Not to be confused with Accounting. Personal, offline. Support, updates, super interface. Worth your money. I'm still working with 7.7, you need version 8.

Since August 2009, I have been keeping track of finances in Keepsoft Home Bookkeeping (keepsoft.ru). First a trial version, then I bought a license. Since 2009, I have been sitting on version 4, because the license is issued for the version of the program, I have to buy an update. This is the only thing that somehow did not suit me. I also don’t really like that the nesting of categories is limited to 2, that is, only a category-subcategory, you can’t do it any further, but this is for a strong detailing of expenses, I don’t need it. I can’t score For life - Products - Carrots bought 1.3 kg for 35 rubles. I just score For life - products. I write the total amount, I score in the notes, everything that I bought without details.
In fact, bookkeeping is good, you know what and where you spent, and how much and where you earned. For example, how would I know otherwise that in 2011 I earned less at my main job than in 2010, although the salary in 2010 was lower. So I'm not going to stop keeping records just yet.

HomeBank
didn't see the FreeBSD version, but there is a tar with sources, maybe someone has ported it...
I'm still trying it out for myself.
in conjunction with an Android application - Financisto , which, by the way, is open source and is being developed by your compatriot. There is a wishlist on uservoice where you can vote for the “feature” you need, or add your own, if anything ...
I save everything in .QIF, throw it in dropbox or google drive or ... I tear it off on my big brother in gnucash or the above program.

For careful budget management (when not only income and basic expenses are taken into account, but all-all-all babos) it’s most convenient to use something mobile that is always at hand - write down information somewhere and drive it home tired in a week.
Therefore, for the time being I use iBearMoney - paid and rather stupid, but completely enough for my needs.

I will support the position already voiced here regarding www.drebedengi.ru. Excellent home accounting, I have not seen better, I have been using it for several years.
