A new server for a router / mailer / file cleaner. ufs or zfs?

Hello, I have never dealt with zfs. I want to make a mirror of two hard drives. I read it, I tested it - I liked it. I'm leaning towards zfs now. Are there any for or against?

If the question is about the home server - then do not care. If in production somewhere, then ZFS is more convenient. Yes, it requires a little more memory, but this mainly applies to scenarios in which deduplication is used. Deduplication, despite its potential attractiveness, does not make sense to use at home. Firstly, there is nothing to dedupe there (home photos will not have common blocks so that at least some profit from deduplication arises). And secondly, the approximate requirements for RAM when deduplication is enabled is 5 GB of RAM on a 1 TB disk.
ZFS has compression, it is possible to make files in a certain dataset have N copies (instead of one). There are snapshots. Well, if the main goal is to fool around in ZFS, then it is also quite possible to use it. So we have servers with 1 GB of RAM, running on ZFS, and they feel quite normal.

Didn't use the same.
Judging by the description, ZFS eats a lot of memory. If this is not an obstacle, then ZFS, IMHO.
But it's stopping me for now. Although I don't have a file washer on FreeBSD yet, I plan to start one soon.
The mirror can be made without ZFS.
