"403 FORBIDDEN" from Laravel to all routes - authentication or configuration issue?

I got a repo with a Laravel project, deployed it - and I get "403 FORBIDDEN" for everything. The project has authentication, but on the wrong route I should get 404, right?
For the test, I raised a test project in the next directory - everything works.
