Is data synchronization between nodes in the blockchain automatic?

I'm wondering how an invalid block hash is recognized in the chain. Does the network do this automatically or does it notify the miners first and then they do something? Why is it written during confirmation of the transaction that most of the nodes should accept the transaction, why not all?
