Apple Mac and Apple iPhone for IOS programming? What to choose?

I am going to master programming under IOS. I have experience with Android.
Advise iron to start, tried it on the emulator - it works, but too slowly.
Want an Apple computer and an iPhone? There are about a thousand dollars ...
1) Interested in whether the Mac Mini is suitable for more or less comfortable work (it is much cheaper)? Or would a Mac be better? Or collect more :-)
2) What iPhone model do you recommend? What would be updated? Maybe take it from the iPhone? What can you say about iPhone Refurbished by Apple?
I plan to start with simple programs, and then how it goes. I don't play games.

i5, 8+ gigs of RAM and used iPhone 5

Mobile development does not require high performance, so you can not worry about the power of the computer and take the minimum Mac Mini, iphone 5 or 5s will fit in your budget with a Mac Mini (used of course).
