Why doesn't the terminal open?

It seems that nothing important has not been deleted.
But the terminal won't open.
And it also says that an error occurred while checking for updates.

@klepiku

wave it is possible that it is broken
ubuntu has a safe mode on boot (advantech options) and it has a setting from broken packages (dpkg)
try so
there is access to the terminal as root
and yes, in general, you need to write a release and do you use ppa
