What is the most stupid and / or boring job in your opinion that a novice programmer can be entrusted with?

Needed for a movie. The hero graduates from high school and happily gets a job all in dreams. This is where his dreams are shattered.

In reserve, there is a vacancy for a “programmer” - an anikeyscheka explaining to the “aunts from the accounting department” which button to press. But I want something more perverted subtle.

I would be grateful for any options, including obvious and idiotic;)

1. Wipe and dust all computers. Including cleaning mouse balls .
2. Print the A0 color scheme on an A4 black and white printer and color it by hand.
3. Take out the old trash from the warehouse to the trash.
4. Nothing. They took and did not give the task. A day, two, a week. He asks for assignments, but they still don’t give him and he doesn’t understand whether the matter is in him, or in them.
5. "Correction of errors of a large site", spelling.
6. Slightly change the layout. Many times, and then return everything back.

It can be something routine, for example, filling up a warehouse (store) database.

For me, it’s hell to work as a dial-up content manager, whose duties include searching for photos of goods and removing watermarks from the found pictures, working on a faded 15 inch pot-bellied monitor with a proud (20 years ago) “Low Radiation” inscription.
I think hell for bad programmers looks like this =)

Real case.
The head of the organization in which I previously worked gave one of our programmers the task for faults:
- Rename 12,000 files manually (it was necessary to give each file a meaningful name according to its contents);
He spent about 3 working weeks on this. After that, he was given an "eternal" task:
- Scan and recognize the whole library.

A new accountant got a job with us, and so she asked me first of all to arrange the icons on her desktop as it would be convenient for her, to which I replied, “Can’t you make tea?”. She complained to the director, she received a lyulei from him ... By the evening, he put a letter of resignation on the table :)

That is, this is a movie in which the hero, who graduated from a specialty related to programming, went to work as an administrator, and then his dreams were shattered by installers and configs, because he did not study this business? Then enikeyzik will do.
Or that he still went as a programmer, and he was given tasks for which he did not have enough knowledge? Novice programmers are often given a search for a non-critical bug, this helps a lot to understand the framework and the project, to join the development process. Even beginners sometimes start by writing unit tests.

No, you need a task that is not only tedious (routine), but also related to programming (they shoot about a programmer).
IMHO, freelance work with unsuccessful clients is suitable (they explain everything wrong, they change the requirements and the scope of the task, and in the end they don’t pay at all), or if employment in the company is critical, then such bosses took a programmer to write some kind of program for them, and what this program should do and how 4-5 different people tell him, naturally in different ways and everything is constantly changing. In general, the minimum of solving algorithmic problems = the maximum of the same type of code constructions (which means that the software should be purely applied IMHO), the maximum changes in the technical specification, the minimum time (so that you have to write crutches and there is no time to correct them later) and you can also give him a moronic partner, who worked in the company longer, which means he has more authority with his superiors. The main thing is that the tasks solved every day should be in the style of making 20 buttons,
The simpler the tasks are, the easier it will be for viewers who are not programmers to understand (i.e. to go deeper into what kind of button he does or what method he displays there, which means limiting the audience of the work to IT people mainly).

My classmate in the accounting department had two fools (or rather, one was in the accounting department and the second was a cleaning lady), so the cleaner in the evening directed the marafet and felting felts did not intentionally pull the pilot out of the socket (or didn’t pull it out, but simply turned off the button) and in the morning at the second fools (that is, the first one, the one from the accounting department) had a tantrum “the computer burned down, but it is on the balance sheet!”. And the classmate worked from her through three floors and he had to shuffle to the must of the accident just to press the button. And so every day, and if he was later than that tundra from the accounting department, then he received a tantrum on his mobile on the way to his favorite job. And this extravaganza ended only after one of them quit, I don’t remember who was the cleaning lady, accountant or classmate. Every day, every weekday morning!!!

Bury under a mountain of "project documentation" because without it a person will not be able to understand the project. He is eager to write code, and they tell him “yes, it’s early, you won’t figure it out yet, read last year’s reports on the system” ... and so on.
I also remembered Office Space where the hero checked tons of code to fix the year 2000 error.

The most terrible thing is when they instruct immediately after getting a job to “read the documentation”. And here a person sits, reads, reads, tries to understand, especially if the subject area is complex, and there is no sense in this reading.
You need to immediately throw people into work, into development. Only give tasks simple at first.
Then the person enters an order of magnitude faster.
