Unable to remove curl, how can I fix it?

I write 'sudo apt autoremove curl' - it seems to remove it. But if you write curl -V after that, it reacts and gives out the version.
The error appeared after I tried to fix problems with pycurl

not completely removed package, for example, in the system it is marked as removed (or under-removed) and bits of contents remain.
I usually clean this out with my hands, automatic tools are not always ready for non-standard situations.
